Adoptee Rights Demonstrators: Please Keep in Mind

The forecast for Monday is for Sunny Skies and 75 degrees.

You will want to take the heat into effect and we recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking. Make sure you were your Adoptee Rights T-shirts or green. Between carrying signs, etc. you will also want to be as hands free as possible.

We have VERY specific rules & regulations given to us by McCormick Place, and we will go over those rules at the sign making party, and give another quick run-down of those rules before we leave for the demonstration.

Demonstration posters will be rendered the evening prior to the protest. However, if you choose to bring your own it must be met with ARC board member approval prior to the demonstration.

The Adoptee Rights Coalition also maintains the right to refuse any props, costuming, or gimmicks not in receipt of our approval prior to the protest. The “Code of Conduct” standards contained within the ARC creed will be strictly enforced.

Tuesday 8/7, Wednesday 8/7 and Thursday 8/8:

Adoptee Rights Lobby Booth Volunteers

All booth workers have been contacted about their schedules.

For booth workers staying at The 4 Points Sheraton, we will discuss transportation to McCormick Place prior to Tuesday morning.

Until Sunday Morning most people are traveling, so if you have a question, please try to remain patient. We will get back to you as soon as possible.

If you need an immediate answer to something absolutely vital, text or call 845 750 5954.

  1. I live in NZ+in our country,I had to wait until I was 21yrs,by then my mother was deceased.I think things are easier here now though.Im a 60's kid.I just want you all to know,my heart goes out to each+everyone of you who has no roots! As humanbeings we deserve to know our Heritage. Go hard+they will be pierced by your Voices! :) xo

  2. Hi Leigh,
I'm a 60's kid born in NZ too (I've not lived in NZ for many years though). I've been able to find out some of my roots. However, it is a real shame NZ seems to have such negative attitude towards Adoptees. In Aus the Govt has apologised to adoptees, I wish NZ would do the same. To find out my heritage I made extensive use of and dia (NZ births etc).
