Details, details...

Many of you are asking for itineraries for our upcoming demonstration. We will be posting them here for you to print out, on our Facebook page, and we will have some on hand to pass out at our sign making party.

It's right around the corner, and we are super pumped and honored that this year will be a record breaking demonstration! It's fitting, because everything's bigger in Texas, ya'll!

So, here's a preliminary run-down of our schedule.

Our sign making party will be Sunday, August 7th, at The Menger Hotel, and starts at 7 pm. We will have a brief "Speaking with Legislators" how-to workshop before we pull out the art supplies. Then, we will color, paint and glitter up our signs for the demonstration.

The morning of the demonstration, we will meeting in the lobby of The Menger, and will leave the hotel at exactly 10:30am, and start our march to The Alamo, a 5 minute walk. We will stay in front of The Alamo until 11:00 am. We will then proceed to the NCSL annual meeting at The Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center  at EXACTLY 11:00 am. It's approximately an 8 minute walk. We took into consideration the Texas summer heat, and shortened our march this year. We will have bottled water in front of the convention center.

We will demonstrate in front of the convention center for one hour. Of course, while we are being brave (and probably hot) revolutionaries outside, we will have people manning our booth inside the exhibitor hall. This is your chance to tell your legislators why we should have our original birth certificates. Your rights, your demonstration!

Our after party will be held at The Casa Rio Restaurant immediately following the demonstration, at 12:30 pm. It's located a few blocks from the convention center at 430 E Commerce St. Lunch will include a fiesta Southwestern/Mexican style spread. YOU MUST RSVP IN ADVANCE.

We will be posting the RSVP form later today. Cost for lunch will be $16.00 if you pay in advance via paypal, or $20.00 at the door. Again, YOU MUST RSVP IN ADVANCE, so the folks at Casa Rio will have enough munchies for all the hungry demonstrators! A note about Paypal- you do not have to have a Paypal account to pay via paypal. Paypal also takes credit cards.

Look for our RSVP form later today!
